While enjoying a St. Jean Baptiste holiday BBQ at a popular sugar shack in the off-island suburb of Varennes during the early morning hours of June 25, Wagner Thermidor was shot and killed by a stray bullet.The investigation into Thermidor’s death is still ongoing but has stagnated due to a lack of eyewitness accounts; this despite the fact that Thermidor was one of nearly 1,500 there that night. Joan and Doug Lunan have been happily married for 49 years and have lived in Pointe Claire for 40. Eleven years ago, Joan started a unique hobby that has been keeping a smile on the lips of her neighbours and area school children ever since.The Lunans used to winter in Florida and one day Joan saw that her neighbour had a life-sized wooden goose that they used to dress up. Young Lions exceed expectations

Last weekend the midget AAA Lac St. Louis Lions improved to eight wins in their first 10 games with a pair of overtime victories, 3-2 at home on Saturday night at the Dollard Civic Centre over Jonquière and then on Sunday at the St. Michel Arena, the Lions dropped the Montreal Canadiens by a 6-5 tally.
