Seniors swing at Sam Bruner Open

Gaston Blais, 71-years-young of St. Lambert won the championship match 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, in the 65 and up Quebec Tennis final of the Sam Bruner Open at the Côte St. Luc Tennis Club Saturday afternoon. I

In the 45 and up final, Dorval Tennis’ Patrice Rousso won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4; in the 50 and up category Côte St. Luc’s Jack Rosenfield defeated Joel Azancot from Hampstead 6-4, 6-4; Alain Coté of the Monkland Tennis Club won the 55-plus final; Monkland’s Hy Glick got past Côte St. Luc’s Norm Yudin 6-4,6-3 in the 60-plus championship; Creighton Wilson of the Monkland Tennis Club was the victor in the 70-plus division 6-2, 6-1; Quebec City’s Marc Blondeau won in the 75-plus final 6-4, 4-4 (default); Dorval’s Glen Ramage captured the 80-plus final 6-2, 6-2. “We had 85 participants, one of the best turnouts for the event,” Yudin said.
